Still Alive And Kicking

Just a note to say that we are all doing well, and have had a wonderful Christmas with friends in Kelowna. We had a white, but pretty cold, holiday this year. Hopefully we will get to go skating while we are here (we just got new skates) and maybe some sledding would be fun before it gets to warm and the snow all melts. I hope you all have a great new year.

We made it all the way to Nova Scotia and back. Canada is sure a beautiful country and I am glad that I have the privledge of being born in this great nation.

Tami has started grade 10 and gets to do school by DVD. Her teachers are great and she is doing good so far.

We are now traveling through the northwestern States. We are meeting alot of wonderful people and Tami is making a ton of new friends.

Sorry that this post is so short, but I gotta run again. Talk to you all again soon.

Heading Back

We have been having a great time discoverung how beautiful our great country is. We went all the way out to Nova Scotia and now are heading back west. We are going to be back in Kelowna in time to help with our home church's VBS. I,for one, am looking forward to seeing everyone again. After we are done in Kelowna I believe we are going Stateside for a few months. I look forward to seeing more of this continent, but can't wait to have a home in Williams Lake.

Eastward Bound

We have finally reached Ontario and are glad to see rocks and trees again. The Prairies were very beautiful, but a bit to flat for my tastes.
Tami and Rick went to a Toronto Blue Jays game on Saturday. The Blue Jays beat the Boston Red Socks 10-2. Tami said in one inning the Jays got six runners in. They had a good time.
While Rick and Tami were at the game, I went shopping with some other missionary wives. I bought myself a black denim skirt, a beautiful puprple blouse and a sweater set. I had alot of fun with the other ladies, and was glad to make some new friends.
On a sadder note, I was very disappointed when my team, the Vancouver Canucks, was elimaneted from going to the playoffs. I'm not quite sure what needs to be done with the team, but I do know that the Cup has to come to Vancouver. I will also be sad to see Trevor Linden retire. He has been a big part of the team for a very long time.

Bob the Builder

Rick, Susan, Tami and I took the kids to the science center the other day and boy did they have fun. There was a big Bob the Builder display. Ryan and Rosie really enjoyed themselves in all the different areas of the center.

Time With Family

Right now we are in Calgary staying with my sister and her family. It is very refreshing spending time with her, and spoiling her two kids.
Tami is doing good with her school work and is almost caught up. Hopefully she will be done school before summer break. Only time will tell.
Alberta is very flat and really not that exciting to drive through, and we still have two more prairie provinces to drive through. Tami says that she really misses the mountains, and I have to say that I agree with her. I have no idea why people would want to live out here, although, if it wasn't for the wind, the country areas would be nice and quiet.

Montana

We are currently at a missions conference in Great Falls, Montana. The drive down here was long, but very beautiful. I love the mountains here. Driving through them showed me the that God indeed is real and that He created a beautiful world for us to enjoy. I cannot wait to see more of the country and the beauty of it.
We had a blessing the other day. Another church has taken us one for support. We have been on full-time deputation for less than a month and already over 20% of our support. The Lord sure is blessing us, and has directed us to the right churches since we started.
Well I have to go and get some school work marked so that Tami can get some more done.

One Busy and Cold Week

Sunday night was a very exciting time. After church, which was held in a very nice hotel conference room, the fire alarm went off and everyone was asked to go to the lobby. The firemen came and discovered that it was just a false alarm. Talk about an exciting end to the week.
We left Vancouver on Monday to go to Williams Lake for a few days. When we left it was around -2 C, but when we arrived in Williams Lake it was a bone chilling -36 C. Talk about a difference in temperatures. I wasn't sure that I would ever warm up. While we were there, we got to visit with Rick's sister and dad. We also looked around for a place to hold church services, and may have found a place. We are praying that everything works out.
We are now back in Kelowna for a couple of days. Tami gets her bottom braces on tomorrow. She is not looking forward to this, but one day she will be glad that she went through with it all.
Well gotta go for now. Come back again to see what happens to us next in our travels.

Away We Go

Our family has started our deputation trail. We are currently in the lower mainland and are leaving for Williams Lake on Monday.
Life down here is extremely fast paced and there are people everywhere you turn. It is really different from what I am used to. Just give a a nice quiet corner and I feel at home.I have met many nice people while we have been here, and hope to keep in contact with them.
Tonight our daughter joins us again. She got to spend some time in Kelowna with her friends. The poor girl had to fly out there for an orthdontist appointment (one of many) to get her braces adjusted. I can't wait to see her again.
